IDEA 2nd Phase Launched

Integrated Development for Empowering Action (IDEA) Phase IInd was launched in the Public Function held on 26th October 2011.The Inauguration was done by Fr. Simon Peter, Asst. Vicar, Mother of God Cathedral, Calicut.The program was attended by 240 leaders from CBOs and Federations.An interface program was organized on this occasion in which Mr. Joseph Rebelo,Child line Welfare Inspector, Ms. Sharlet, Circle Inspector of Police, Women Cell, Calicut facilitated the program and clarified the doubts of participants with regard to various Govt. schemes and provisions for the welfare of the poor and vulnerable. The function was presided over by Fr. Sebastian Karakkat, Director, Jeevana. An input session on the approved plan of activities as part of IDEA Phase-II was given by the new Projects Manager of Jeevana, Mr. Z. Francis.The event was lead by Ms. Jessy John, Mr.George and Ms.Jessy Joseph.This project is supported by Caritas India. The first CDC meeting of IDEA Phase II was held on 25th November 2011. The inauguration was done by Msgr. Vincent Arakkal, Administrator of the Diocese. Mr. K A Seabastian, State Officer, Caritas India has given the key note address. The meeting was attended by 18 CDC members who made a detailed plan of action for the first year activities ensuring the participation of all Diocesan actors.

KLM Distric Convention

KLM District Convention was held on 13th Nov.2011.The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Pradeepkumar MLA, Calicut. The programme was chaired by Msgr. Vincent Arackal Administrator of the Diocese of Calicut.Kerala Labour Movement (KLM) is an earnest effort to organize unorganized labour folk and it work under the Labour commission of KCBC.A total of 325 KLM members from different parts of the District has attended the program. Mr. Joseph Jude, Mr. Joy Gothuruthu, Fr. Jaison Vadasserry,Mr. P. Kishan Chand, Fr. Joseph Mukelaparambil, Tamarasserry,Ms. Sajitha and Mr. Jose Murickan, Fr. Sebastian Karakkat, Z. Francis and Ms. Jessy John and Mr. Manuel CJ lead the program.
